What started with our signature Scallop Lampshade has led to a thoughtful collection of unique homewares that offer both personality and purpose. Guiding the process from initial sketches to final product, founder Matilda designs homewares to be truly lived with.

We have ambitious plans for our business in the UK and overseas in the coming years and in order to achieve these we are now looking to recruit a Junior Designer/Developer to support our Product Development Lead across our full product range.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the design and development team to create unique and original product briefs.
  • Help translate concepts from sketches into technical drawings and detailed specifications for production. 
  • Create physical models where possible as well as renders. 
  • Complete visual and market research and create mood boards/reference boards. 
  • Design across multiple categories including but not limited to: lighting, hardware, textiles and tabletop.
  • Assist with product packaging design.
  • Provide day to day administration and product development support across all categories including but not limited to: lighting, tabletop, hardware and textiles.
  • Supporting critical path by maintaining brief deadlines and ensuring samples are received on time. 
  • Sample management from shipment through to delivery and organised archiving/storage.
  • Supporting supplier relationships and daily comms. 
  • Assist with quality control, product compliance, documentation and QC inspections. 
  • Support customer service team with technical product information.  

Skills

  • Proficiency in 3D software eg Solidworks, Sketchup or similar as well as 2D eg Adobe suite. 
  • Some technical understanding of manufacturing processes. 
  • Proficiency in Excel and Adobe suite. 
  • An eye for detail and an appreciation of high quality materials and finishes.
  • Some familiarity with UKCA / EU / UL regulations. 
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role 
  • Good understanding of luxury lighting and homewares brands and trends. 
  • Good presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Highly organised with strong administrative capability
